Ignition Programme

Science-based Businesses for a Sustainable World.

An 112-hour Ignition Programme developed by Porto Business School in the context of the Biopolis Framework and organised in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley Innovation Group, as well as other lecturers, business leaders and keynote speakers from different parts of the globe.

Straightly connected with the R&D activities, this multidisciplinary initiative has the mission of preparing the participants to launch their own start-ups, both university spin-offs and market-led ventures, and is free of charge for the selected participants.

The first episode of the “Improbable Journeys” unveils the origins of µGreen Solutions, a project that uses solar-powered marine resources to innovate in construction by offering living insulation systems based on microalgae.

MicroVida, a quest for change in the horticulture industry – Episode #2

The second episode of the “Improbable Journeys” covers each detail of the story of MicroVida, a project that aims to promote healthy, sustainable and responsible eating and that intends to transform the fruit and vegetable market in Portugal.

The IGNITION Programme gave us leverage tools, promoting contact with the various sources of funding in Portugal.
